Rebranding & App
What's the story?
FitPal takes the ethos of MyFitnessPal and takes it to another level. Utilizing the basis of the old product, FitPal combines AI, health data, and revitalized design to create the perfect wellness platform.
What's the problem?
We want to simultaneously simplify our branding, maintain recognition, introduce AI tools, create a more playful design aesthetic, and make fitness feel more approachable.
What’s the goal?
How can we create a new, engaging brand that provides a seamless transition between MyFitnessPal and FitPal, while ensuring clear and easy-to-understand content?
Introducing Kara
FitPal uses the power of AI to help users reach their highest potential. Users can get advice from Kara or use the "Ways to Improve" tool throughout the app for quick tips.
Apple Health Support
In order to help users work on their wellness, FitPal needs consistent and accurate data. Users can connect FitPal with Apple Health to get the most of out of the app. Connecting with Apple Watch tracking and Apple Health data allows FitPal to keep tips and summaries up to date.
Competitions
Allows users to compete with friends and other users to help them achieve their wellness goals.
Notifications
Get encouraging FitPal notifications throughout the day.
Dynamic Modes
The app’s color schemes transition between day and night, creating an easier viewing experience.
Design System
Logos
Much like the name, the FitPal logo is a redone version of MyFitnessPal’s previous logo. It’s simpler, and a little bit more rounded, mirroring the new app design.
Primary Colors
For our primary colors, we wanted to build off of MyFitnessPal’s iconic blue. To introduce a broader color range, we’ve added pink and a golden yellow.
Icon System
To reflect the more bubbly branding, we picked an icon system with rounded edges and a thick stroke.
Color System
The original MyFitnessPal app felt very flat and boring; we’ve spiced that up with a series of gradients.

This is an evolution of the most popular fitness app, MyFitnessPal. FitPal takes everything that people love about MFP and expands it with AI and a bold new design. Create friendly competitions with friends, generate the perfect plan with Kara, view all of your favorite stats in one spot, and so much more.
